3 Days Best of South Luangwa National Park Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Afternoon Game Drive

You will be warmly welcomed by our expert safari team on arrival at Mfuwe Airport who will brief you and later transfer you to your lodge, located on the banks of the Luangwa River. After check-in and a refreshing lunch, take some time to relax and soak in the tranquil wilderness. Later in the afternoon, set out for your first game drive through South Luangwa National Park, famous for its dense concentrations of wildlife. As the sun sets, you will enjoy sightings of elephants, giraffes, and prides of lions before returning to the lodge for dinner under the stars. Spend the evening around the campfire listening to the calls of the wild.

Day 2: Morning Walking Safari and Evening Game Drive

You will rise early for tea or coffee before heading out on one of South Luangwa’s renowned walking safaris, guided by an expert ranger and an armed scout. This intimate experience allows you to explore the park on foot, learning about animal tracks, birdlife, and the intricate ecosystems that sustain the bush. Return to the lodge mid-morning for a hearty brunch and some leisure time by the pool or riverbank. Later in the afternoon, embark on another game drive that transitions into a night safari, offering the chance to spot leopards, hyenas, and other nocturnal wildlife illuminated by spotlights.

Day 3: Sunrise Safari and Departure

Return to camp for breakfast, followed by check-out and transfer back to Mfuwe Airport for your onward journey. About Croc Valley Camp

You will spend the 2 nights at Croc Valley Camp. This is a 3-star eco-safari lodge situated on the banks of the Luangwa River, just outside South Luangwa National Park. Guests can relax in comfortable chalets or luxury tents overlooking the river, enjoy delicious meals at the open-air restaurant, and unwind by the pool while watching hippos and elephants nearby. The camp offers easy access to game drives and walking safaris led by expert guides, making it an ideal base for exploring the park. With its warm hospitality, natural setting, and sustainable practices, Croc Valley Camp delivers an authentic and memorable safari experience to its guests while there .
